At the time the first photos on these pages were taken (Feb 2000) scenery exisited on only two of the four boards. The reason work was confined to these two boards was due to being invited to give a demonstration of P87 modelling at the Nottingham Exhibition in March. The title picture ( above ) shows the Baldwin S 12 in front of the Duquesne Brewery. On the left can be seen the premises of the Iron City Sash & Door Co. and in the foreground are the drops of the South Side Coal Company. All these were actual firms located on the PRR's Whitehall branch in Pittsburgh.

This shot shows the exit from the layout to the cassette storage track. Jones & Laughlin Steel in the background.

The three nearest tracks belong to the yard of Philip Morris, Mine Machinery Co. (still to be built in Feb 2000). This is their travelling crane

Finally a view at right angles to the layout. The Proto 87 trackwork helps a lot with the overall effect.
