MicroMark Switch
Tender turnout operating system
I developed this system because
I did not want the full force of the motor and its gearing pressing on the tie-bars.
Nor did I want the current to the motor to be continuously on.
Basically a DPDT slide switch
is interposed between the motor and the tie-bar.
The current to the motor ( anything from 6 to 12 volts DC will do ) is applied
by push to make sprung switches.
The only contentious issue
was in the choice of wire from the motor to the DPDT slide switch which needs
to be both strong and springy .... steel 'piano' wire ( 36 thou / 0.93mm ) has
been found to be effective. Make sure that there are no sharp edges
around the hole in the motor shaft by grinding a round edge with the 'Dremel'.
The pictures below should
be self-explanitory. Any further questions please e-mail
me.
